After 23 years living in warm & beautiful Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), I packed my stuff to College Park, MD, where I earned a MS in Telecommunications. At the time it was going to be the biggest change in my life and I said to myself “Hey, I should start writing about these new (and exciting) experiences ... and maybe ten or twenty years from I’ll say “Hey, I remember that day, when ...”. But the Internet and the world are so small that maybe one day someone might find one of these stories interesting, educating or ... who knows, just stops by.

Celtics defeated a weak 76ers team in the final minute of the game on what I would call a very disappointing win on two days rest and at home (+ after beating the NY Knicks in OT).

Anyway, Go Celtics!!!

I was disappointed the times I’ve gone to baseball games outside the Dominican Republic ... of course, that was before going to Fenway Park. Go Sox!

At the same time I was leaving my hometown, Santo Domingo, for the first time.

There’s no place like home but College Park made this transition easier than I though. The student life was something completely different to what I had experienced before (although I appreciate my days back home). I came here for my M.S. in Telecommunications but now I leave with lifetime memories and friends. These ‘two’ years here, have been simply incredible.

Enjoy this video I’ve made; I put a lot of work into it. See you in Boston, MA!!!

The first one is that three weeks from now I’ll be graduating. It will be the culmination of two wonderful years, my family is coming over so I’m very excited.

The second ... is that I got a job in Boston, MA. I’ll be moving there hopefully by early June. I was in Boston for my first time two weeks ago (for the on-site interview) and I loved the city. It’s a big city, not as crowded as NYC, it has its unique special touch, there are many universities in the area (Harvard, MIT, Northeastern University, Boston College, Boston University) and of course ... the Red Sox and Celtics which are my favorite teams.

I’ll keep you posted on this new stage of my life.

I still haven’t been to other major cities like Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, New Orleans or Seattle but San Francisco is my favorite thus far.

I take you back with me to San Francisco but in 7 minutes of six amazing days in this great city.

That was what happened Yesterday at Comcast Center, home of the Terps (University of Maryland) while I was at the game as we were playing Wake Forest. No, I was not the fan chosen but ... here’s the story.

Let me tell you that when I looked at that guy, I said ... “Nah, he’s not going to make it, even with his eyes open”. So I dediced to grab something to eat. When I was eating my sandwich, I heard this crazy cheer and I couldn’t believe it. Did he make it? That loud was the crowd ... this prank fooled more than one!

It’s not that I live in Utah or Colorado but wherever it drops below 20°F and snows you have to go skiing. As I reach the end of my certainty here in Maryland (three months) I couldn’t pass on this.

I’ve only see skiing and snowboarding in movies so ... just imaging how was excited I was about this. 176 miles away (McHenry, MD) from College Park there’s a nice Skiing resort in western Maryland, very close to the border of Pennyslvania and West Virginia; in fact anything sports related that I saw around belonged to the Steelers and Pirates.

I went for snowboarding and although I have to admit I need to go two or three more times to try more challenging trails/slopes it was very fun. I’d like to go one more time before the end of winter.
